Calling all fans of dolmades, gyros, baklava, music, dancing, and good family times in the Springfield, Missouri area! The 10th annual Springfield Greek Festival is just around the corner. This tradition promises to deliver generous amounts of food, pastries, and all things Greek.
This year’s festival includes a silent auction with items donated from area vendors. Other Greek memorabilia will also be for sale. Guests can gather friends and family for a fun photo op in the “Greek for a Day” photo booth, which will have an all new backdrop this year. In addition to traditional food and pastries from local vendors, there will also be plenty of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for sale.
The Springfield Greek Festival is a great place to learn about Greek culture and enjoy its flavorful arts and foods. There will be short discussions about the Orthodox faith as an educational opportunity for visitors. Plus, guests are invited to participate and learn some traditional Greek dances, like the sirto, hasapiko, kalamatiano and hasaposerviko.
The Springfield Greek Festival takes place on September 8-10, 2017 at the St. Thomas Apostle Orthodox Church, just minutes from Corwin Alfa Romeo FIAT. Admission is free, so gather the family and get ready for an exciting Greek experience.
