If you took the Jeep® Renegade and send it off to study abroad for a semester in Italy, it might come back as the Fiat 500X, as this small crossover takes its styling cues from the classic compact Fiat 500, an efficient little car that returned to the U.S. just a few years back.
As with the Fiat 500, the Fiat 500X crossover continues to update its styling and amenities through the years, as the 2018 Fiat 500X added a standard rearview camera, standard Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, and a standard 7-inch color touchscreen with the Uconnect infotainment system.
Recent spy shots of the 2019 Fiat 500X, though, show that this new model year should wear new styling both inside and outside. It looks as though the 2019 Fiat 500X will feature updated front and rear fascias, as well as the new design on inside details like the steering wheel and the instrument cluster. Since the last model year introduced updated standard technology, that category will likely remain the same.
As for engines, each 2018 Fiat 500X comes with one of two powertrains, a 160-horsepower 1.4-liter option and a 180-hp 2.4-liter. There’s no news yet on what engines will be available in the 2019 Fiat 500X.
