The FIAT 500 Abarth, which is the performance version of the pint-size hatchback, has been spotted wearing some style-hiding camouflage. This can only mean one thing—a Fiat 500 Abarth redesign is coming soon.
A redesign for the Abarth probably won’t be extreme, and will likely use many of the same new features incorporated into the standard versions of the 500 earlier this year, including a new front and rear bumper, slanted headlights, and LED daytime running lights. We’ll also likely see a new set of wheels on the refreshed Abarth.
Inside, updates will include a new dashboard layout surrounding a new five-inch UConnect system, upgraded materials, better soundproofing, and a new sports steering wheel.
Some rumors have suggested that FIAT will even tweak the Abarth’s 1.4-liter turbocharged engine to deliver even more power. It currently tops out at 190 horsepower.
FIAT is expected to unveil the 500 Abarth redesign early this year, possibly in March at the Geneva Motor Show.
