May might just be the perfect time of year. The temperatures aren’t too hot, it isn’t raining as much, and there are beautiful flowers blooming everywhere. With that in mind, here are some great May events in Springfield to get your out of the house.
- Parties at the Park. Every Thursday from 5 to 8pm, head to Farmers Park. The event is free and open to the public, and includes great food, live music, local vendors, and tons of all-around fun.
- Farmers Market. The Greater Springfield Farmers’ Market is open year round. Spring and summer hours are Saturdays from 8am to 1pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8am to noon. The market is located on the southeast corner of the Battlefield Mall parking lot.
- Ghost Tour. To catch a glimpse of the spookier side of Springfield, make a reservation for a ghost tour of Pythian Castle. The tours run weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 8pm.
